The craze surrounding this handset from Samsung brand has reached such a height that the fans have already started talking and predicting about the smartphone. Although, the company still say nothing about their S9 phone. But people are talking and expecting something very different for Samsung Galaxy S9. As of now, there is no rumor or leak available on the internet which can help to make any idea about company’s next flagship on S lineup. In this article, we will try to reach expected features and specification of Galaxy S9 which Samsung fan is expecting eagerly. So let’s start without wasting any further time –

Samsung Galaxy S9 Specs and Features

Design and Display

Samsung has started a new era regarding smartphone design. With the S8 launch, the company is following a new trend of providing more screen with minimal bezels encompassed which Samsung calls it infinity display. S6 and S6 edge were game changing for the company of its metal and glass built, and it got a lot of improvement with S7 edge whereas there is no comparison of S8 in terms of design as it comes with the unique and eye catching design. I am using S7 edge from the past one year and never feel dull to use it. Samsung is going more innovative and comes with the new look and feel with its every flagship launch.

Moving to the main point, Samsung Galaxy S9 is expected to come with defined design as the company believes in innovating new things. If everything goes correctly, we can see a true bezel less display with very vibrant and rich color quality, and Super AMOLED does every time. It will be experimental, so there are huge chances the company will not experiment on its flagship that indicate Samsung will stick to same display with minor changes.

As far as display is concerned, the S9 display will probably be targeted to virtual reality as VR is future of technology. With VR, potentials are endless to improve it. Current, S8 and S8 plus come with 2K ready Super AMOLED display on the front with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The S9 headset will come with the 4K display to provide immersive VR experience on it. It will also retain the 3D touch technology which is one of the most useful features. An another feature called, “Always on Display” will be there with batter implements on it.

Samsung Galaxy S9 is rumored to pack in an 8nm next generation Exynos Chip and for some specific regions like the US would be getting Snapdragon 845 SoC in upcoming Galaxy smartphones. 7nm and the 8nm process will provide great power efficiency with buttery smooth performance. These devices are going to rock again with very powerful chipsets to be packed inside.

Moving towards storage, company’s current flagships are getting 64GB internal storage coupled 4GB RAM but the world is changing, now Android needs more resourced to perform a specific task. The S9 will definitely get 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage even rumors suggest Samsung will even get 256GB storage on the higher variant. The good thing is that storage is expandable on Samsung phones so if you need more storage you can put Micro SD slot for enhanced storage.

Camera and Battery

The Galaxy S8 was expected to flaunt a dual-lens camera setup, as per the rumors had been indicating for a long time. But eventually, the rear camera setup came with a single-lens setup with a 12-megapixel sensor along with the f/1.7 aperture, Phase Detection auto focus (PDAF) technology, OIS and LED Flash. The current market trend is for Dual lens cameras even some budget range smartphones adopting it. The Samsung will definitely add the Dual camera on the rear but the main thing is that how will they implement? Current, camera is more than enough for formal usage.

In battery department, Samsung surely needs some necessary improvements. The current Galaxy S8 comes with 3000 mAh battery whereas plus variant is getting 3500 mAh battery under the hood which is enough to provide 1-day talk time in normal usage while heavy usage it gets off in 4-5 hours. We are expecting more battery but it can effect to design as well. The Samsung S9 will probably get 3500 mAh battery, and larger S9 Plus might get 4000 mAh battery. Optimization is another thing to improve battery life and iPhones are biggest examples of it. But Android is more power hungry compared to iOS so Samsung needs a bigger battery to improve battery life.

Samsung S9 Pricing and Availability

Samsung gradually increases the price of their flagships with every new launch. The Galaxy S7 was priced at 48,990 INR in India and around $750 in the US at launch whereas S8 was launched with increased price of 59,990 INR in India and $950 in the US. So it expected the S9 might also get some increment in price. It will likely to launch with 64,999 INR in India whereas the US will get $1050 price tag.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Release Date and Price in India
Samsung is very punctual when it comes to making flagship announcement and release date. The company just loves to follow some particular pattern, and past launches are the biggest examples of it. Samsung has released the Galaxy S7 at the MWC 2016. However, they set March 29 as the date for the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8 because Note 7 was discontinued because of internal issues. They took some extra time because they had already been got a significant loss and one more massive failure means the almost end of the tech giant.

Still, their is a long time to launch, but the current trend suggests that the flagship device gets launched before the end of the first quarter of the year.
